The State of Kansas requires that all persons who are providing care for a
child who is not a relative, for more than 20 hours per week (per child, must be
licensed or registered by the State.
If you are interested in obtaining a child care license contact the Junction
City/Geary County Health Department at 785-762-5788. Applications are available
at the Health Department.
A state certified licensing consultant will assist you through the
application process.

There are a number of things that you should
know when selecting a care
provider. All licensed providers are required to have their license posted in
their homes. Providers are required to have a program for the children in their
care, balanced meals, and a safe play environment. Take the time to check these
items out before enrolling your child in care. If you have any concerns about
the quality of care that your child is receiving please call the Health
Department at 785-762-5788.
