PROGRAM ACTIVITIES:

Planning inspections (prior to construction or opening of a food service establishment)
Licensing inspection (initial inspection for approval of state food service license)
Routine inspection (annual inspection required for food service license)
Complaint inspection (required after any complaint is received)
Food Borne Illness (FBI) Investigation (required if FBI is associated with a food service establishment)
Food Safety Training

Food Service Establishments that experience a disaster must stop all operations immediately and contact the Health Department at 785-762-5788 ext 126.

FOOD SAFETY TIPS
- Ill employees should be restricted or excluded from food preparation.
- No bare hand contact with ready-to-eat food
- Cover open cuts and burns with bandages or single-use gloves
- Eat, drink or use any form of tobacco only in designated non-food production areas
- Potentially hazardous foods need to be kept out of the temperature danger zone (41°F to 140°F) as much as possible
