IMMUNIZATION FACTS

 

·        For FY05 (July 04-June/05) the health department immunized 2451 children.

 

·         89.7 to 90% of these children are up do date with immunizations by age 2

 

·        Percentages meet state goal of 90% immunizations up to date by 2010.

 

·        We achieved these results through consistent follow-up by:

 

-         Mailing reminders to parents

-         Phone call reminders to parents

-         Offering immunizations at health fairs

-         Incentives with KDHE Immunize win a prize for gifts and contest:

·              Gifts include Tylenol and baby thermometers

·              Child completing immunization primary series entered contest

·        Contest winners received zoo trip, and cash or phone card.

·        This year the contest is offering the following prizes:

1)    Trip to Disney World

2)    $500 toward rent or mortgage or utility bill

3)    30 hours of long distance

·        Drawing for contest held on September 16, 2005

·        Contest will continue next year.

·        Vaccines are given from 2 months to 18 years

·        Vaccines are eligible for clients with:

            - Medicaid/Health Wave

            - No health insurance

            - Native American/ Alaska Native

            - Insurance that doesn’t cover immunizations

            - Insurance whose co-pay /deductible are too high
