TPCM is a program designed to assist teen moms in: Developing a support system Making responsible decisions Completing basic education prior to the birth of the second child Reducing dependency on welfare by becoming gainfully employed Counseling and empowerment

Eligibility requirements:

• First pregnancy or parenting one child
• Girls ages 10 - 21

Teen Pregnancy Facts

• In 2003 Geary County is the 11th in the State for school age pregnancy 10-17 years old.

• 2003 School Age Pregnancy Rate = 14.5 per 1000 females in population

• School age pregnancy rate has improved over past years.

                   1) Rate in 1999 was 26.1

                   2) Rate in 2000 was 17.4

• JCYC pregnancy prevention for 10-17 is effective as shown by rate decrease.

Teen Pregnancy Support Groups
Moms - Come join a group of your peers in learning new skills while having fun. All teenage and pregnant moms invited. Dads! you are invited as well. We have a support group for you too. Meetings are held every third Wednesday of each month, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Junction City Youth Clinic. Dinner provided (5:00 - 5:30 PM). Bring your baby.

Immunization clinic hours - FREE Immunizations for children who qualify between the ages of 0 to 35 months every day during walk-in hours.
